Getting fit before I'm 30...

Inspired by Zain to publicly post my exercise regime... in order to do more of it... here's the first of it. Now I'm in Inverness I have THE most awesome route for running. Why join a gym and look at a wall while you run?!

It's 4.5 km but only since Zain has been here have I started timing my runs:

April

1st - 5km
2nd - 5km
6th - 4 mile walk in snow!
7th - 5km
8th - 5km
20th - 6 mile hillwalk
22nd - 5km
23rd - 2km run (ended short due to hip pain :(
26th - 8km walk up Meall Fuar-mhonaidh near Drumnadrochit
29th - 5km = 24:50
Not bad...7 runs, 3 hillwalks, and 2 weekends I was busy/away

May

6th - 5km = 24:30
8th - 5km = 26:00 (Bloody hot outside)
9-16th (Nightshifts - dead to the world)
17th - walk up Man of Stoer in Skye (easy)
22nd - 5km = 25:14 1st run post cold and nightshifts

June
20th - 5km Not timed

July
2nd - 5km <30mins
5th - Munro
14th - 5km <30mins

Invershneckie

Where to start?! KP and I are now in the capital of the Highlands. And after Shetland it feels like New York city! This is pretty much it. Loving the flat we got on the left of this pic. Best light and view I have ever had in a flat (minus KP's Lugano one of course!)

And one of the best bits is:

S h e t l a n d i a

6 months went quickly! I'm planning to make a wee movie to show everyone what it was like but might just have to wait till I'm next on nights to do it!!!

We had an amazing time and it was a great experience. To summarise briefly:

GOOD THINGS:
New friends
Awesome accent
Nice job: small hospital and great work colleagues
Scenery
Living by the sea
Awesome lighthouse view especially at night
Seals on the way to the shops!
The weather - wasn't that bad! Certainly warmer than the mainland winter!
Seafood! Especially the massive fish suppers from the mosre than Happy Haddock
Lamb!
Up Helly Aa

BAD THINGS:
The dark... at it's worst it was getting dark at 2pm
Accommodation wasn't the best... had to share and it smelled of curry most of the time
Shetland Ales... we came to the conclusion they tasted like wet ashtray!
The constant wind there is
A job one for me... but the way folk used A+E as a drop in GP practice, and also the way folk abused the NHS from other countries for free health care... but hey! That happens everywhere in this country. No point in taking out medical insurance in the UK if you're a foreigner if you ask me (speaking as a mother!)

More to come!
