Google... I love you almost as much as my Mac!

What with the very easy and quick Blogger...

... the newly bought over YouTube.com...

...GoogleEarth
http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html

...Google Pedometer
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

Amazing!!!

>>Pedometer<<
This is an amazing freeby where you can map out a route, it will give you the distance in km / miles & you can save the route. Not only that - but it saves the route on a website! You can then e-mail that website to other folk.

It is VERY easy to do. Have a go: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

Near top right click “More Options” - then “UK”
Type in wherever you want in “Jump to:” e.g. Glasgow
“Go”
Use the map cursor to move around / zoom in
To start tracing your map click “Start Record”
Then double-click on where you want to start tracing your journey
To end click “Save Route”
Then copy the URL web address it gives you & save it / e-mail it
Fantastic!!!

The uses are endless:
-Accurately see how far you are running
-Design 10km etc. routes from your home
-Send someone accurate directions to places

Check out a 10km route in the West End for running:

>>Google Earth<<
If you haven’t even heard of this then be prepared to waste a few hours! This is amazing and has to be seen to be believed!!! The whole world - with a fair few places in high definition down to streets and cars! There’s also a scroller to the right of the main cursor which lets you move in the vertical plane so you can see the 3D topography of the land!

Now available to Mac users as well as Windows!

You can even send bookmarked places in the world to folk! ADD > PLACEMARK. Then either right-click the placemark & e-mail / select the placemark on the left in Places - then FILE > E-MAIL. It’s that easy!!!

The file is named .kmz and when you get one - just double-click it in your e-mail and Google Earth should just load it up and zoom right in there / save the file to your desktop, open Google Earth up and go FILE > OPEN - then double-click the.kmz file on the desktop.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to giving someone directions etc.
e.g. Walk up Lochnagar - you can visualise the walk in 360 degrees and vertical plane
